We’ve rebranded and are so excited to roll this out to you, our valued passengers. Over the next several months, you’ll begin to see our new logo and ads popping up around town. So, what does this change mean to you? Great question – and we can’t wait to answer it!
Our former logo, pictured on the left, has been around for a long time. At the time, it was fresh and relevant and did a good job representing our airport. However, with the increasing popularity of the internet and the ability for travelers to book their own flights online, using airline websites or sites like Kayak or Expedia (also known as Online Travel Agents, or OTAs), incorporating an airport’s three-letter code (PHF) has become a best practice.
Not only that, but our airport was due for a fresh look that better represents who we are and where we’re going. Our new logo and new ads do just that.
The forward motion of the jet stream shows the plane’s path from PHF to, well, anywhere our travelers want to go. We love the clean, modern typeface and color palette, and the way the PHF will stand out in any medium. For a while though, you will still see the old logo around the terminal, as this is only Phase one of the rebrand, and is currently being used on websites, social media sites, and advertising. Phase two will include signage, uniforms, vehicles and other things you routinely see around the terminal.
Pretty soon, you’ll start seeing our new branding everywhere from our website and social media, to various ads across the internet and in our region. Our new look is bright and fresh and reflects the easy travel experience our passengers tell us they have on a regular basis from PHF.
Our new message is simple: Rediscover PHF. Check us first when you book your next trip.
You’ll see variations on this message as we invite our community to Experience all that PHF has to offer. With nonstop flights to Atlanta, Charlotte and Philadelphia on American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, travelers can reach hundreds of destinations worldwide with just one stop. Best of all, PHF provides a great flying experience where passengers enjoy easy parking with convenient shuttle service, a clean, modern terminal, free WiFi, ample charging stations, and a full-service restaurant and bar past security.
We consistently hear from our travelers how easy it is to fly from PHF, and that’s exactly what our new messaging is all about. You and the experience. We know that your trip begins when you pull into the parking lot, and we want to make sure that our passengers feel like they’re walking on air, before they ever take PHFlight.
You’ll also catch us having a little fun with the letters “PHF” as we imagine all the positive things our airport code could stand for. In reality, PHF stands for Patrick Henry Field — the original name of our airport when commercial service started in 1949 — but we think it could also stand for Picture Happy Flying. Or Please Have Fun. Or Plan Happy Festivities. The possibilities are endless!
In the end, our rebranding exercise is about you, our treasured passengers. We want to make sure we remind you to check PHF first, because we know your time is important. We will also use our new branding message to remind us, to provide you with the best (and sometimes surprising, in a good way) experiences possible. We thank you for your continued support of PHF and hope you like our new look as much as we do!
